Who should not do colon hydrotherapy/colonics

Colon Hydrotherapy Screening Process & Informed Consent


At Selah Cleansing Arts, we prioritize your safety and well-being. Professionally administered colon hydrotherapy is generally safe for most individuals, but it’s important to consult your doctor if you have any health concerns prior to scheduling with us.


You are NOT a candidate for colon hydrotherapy/colonics if you are currently diagnosed with any of the following:


  • Lupus
  • Diverticulitis (In an active flair)
  • Ulcerative colitis (In an active flair)
  • Crohn's disease (In an active flair)
  • Severe hemorrhoids
  • Rectal or intestinal tumors
  • Uncontrolled hypertension
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Organic valve disease
  • Severe anemia
  • GI hemorrhage/perforation
  • Cirrhosis of the liver
  • Fissures or fistulas
  • Abdominal hernia (Depending upon location)
  • Renal insufficiency
  • recent abdominal surgery (6 months or less)


Transparency of Risk and Liability


For clients under the age of 18, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required prior to treatment. By providing this consent, the parent or guardian acknowledges and agrees to release Selah Cleansing Arts (PMA), including its owner, managers, practitioners, and affiliated personnel, from any and all liability or claims arising from services rendered.


Please be advised that colon hydrotherapy may not be appropriate for individuals who have recently undergone chemotherapy or radiation treatment, experienced an aneurysm, or had colon surgery. 


Pregnant individuals must consult their physician prior to treatment and may only receive therapy at specific stages of pregnancy, subject to the professional judgment and approval of the certified colon hydrotherapist and PCP.


By scheduling an appointment with Selah Cleansing Arts (PMA), you affirm that you do so voluntarily, accept full responsibility for any associated risks, and agree to abide by all terms and conditions of service.
